Webuild Completes Riyadh Metro Orange Line

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Webuild has finished construction on the Riyadh Metro's Western Station, completing its 22-station Orange Line package.

The station, which connects metro, bus, and public transportation services around the city, is situated along Al Madinah Al Munawarah Road in western Riyadh.

An elevated metro station, a bus terminal, more than 600 subterranean parking spots, retail spaces, a mosque, and a public plaza are all included in the 112,000-square-meter construction.

One of the biggest automated public transportation networks in the world, Riyadh's 176-kilometer driverless metro network, includes the Orange Line.

The station was built in accordance with LEED Gold sustainability standards, using renewable energy sources and energy-efficient technology to cut down on power and water use.

The station's architecture is inspired by desert dunes, with massive arches up to 115 meters long that support the roof structure and provide shaded public areas that blend in with the surrounding urban landscape.

Since its founding in 1966, Webuild has completed over 90 projects in Saudi Arabia, including urban development, transportation, infrastructure, and healthcare initiatives.

The Riyadh Metro Red Line expansion project was recently given to the company, which is also participating in the Diriyah Gate construction.
