Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has kicked off the Othman Bin Affan Road and King Salman Road construction project, a significant infrastructure improvement to enhance traffic flow and connectivity in the northern part of Riyadh.
The project comprises building of seven new bridges and modifications to existing road infrastructure throughout the 4.3-kilometre corridor, and will increase the ability to accommodate about 500,000 cars per day.
The construction will concentrate on improving critical junctions at King Salman Road and Anas bin Malik Road via a network of two to four lane bridges to increase connectivity between the northern and southern sectors of the corridor and minimize travel times.
RCRC has included temporary traffic diversions in the work schedule while keeping three lanes in each direction. Signage, navigation updates and specific project information channels set up by the authorities are also supporting traffic management during works.
The project is part of Riyadh’s continuous drive to upgrade its transport infrastructure and support the sustained expansion of the city.
