Sharjah Opens New Direct China Trade Route Via Khorfakkan

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - A new direct marine connection between China's Xiaomo Port and Sharjah's Khorfakkan Port is expected to improve commercial ties between China and the UAE while offering an alternate route across the Strait of Hormuz.

The service will commence with a substantial shipment of automobiles from China straight to Khorfakkan, offering additional capacity for automotive and other cargo flows into the UAE.

Khorfakkan Port, located on the UAE's east coast, gives direct access to the Gulf of Oman and international trade routes, eliminating the need for ships to pass across the Strait of Hormuz. The new link provides maritime and logistics businesses with another alternative for transferring Chinese goods into the UAE and the broader region.

The route also improves Sharjah's position as a regional commerce and logistics gateway, especially as firms search for more flexibility and resilience in their supply chains amid shifting global shipping circumstances.
