Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Ports (Mawani) has teamed with UAE-based Gulftainer to establish a new sea-land commerce corridor between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with the goal of preserving cargo flows amidst regional tensions.
The route allows goods to be unloaded from the Khorfakkan Container Terminal on the UAE's east coast, transferred via Sharjah's Sajaa Dry Port, and then delivered by road to Dammam and other Saudi Arabian locations.
The program aims to create an alternate logistical route that avoids the Strait of Hormuz, minimizing susceptibility to interruption and boosting supply chain resilience.
According to Mawani, the corridor allows for quicker and more reliable cargo transit between the two nations, while also assisting companies in avoiding delays and increased expenses associated with present regional shipping concerns.
