Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - In the midst of regional tensions, Saudi Arabia has started a Logistics Corridors Program at Jeddah Islamic Port to facilitate trade flows and preserve supply chain stability.
Additional passageways to handle goods and containers diverted from the Kingdom's eastern ports and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, such as Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, are part of the effort.
By offering other routes for cargo transit during delays, the initiative is intended to guarantee continuity in regional and international commerce.
According to Saudi officials, port operations are functioning well to handle higher quantities, with more flexibility between Red Sea and Arabian Gulf ports to sustain consistent cargo flows.
With a combined capacity of over 17 million containers per year, the Kingdom's Red Sea ports are able to handle regional cargoes that have been diverted.
