Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - XCMG's 4,000-ton crawler crane accomplished its first large lift at the Amiral petrochemical project in Jubail, erecting a 1,065-ton process tower in a site milestone operation.
The lift, carried out by Sinopec's Shipping and Handling Company with technical assistance from XCMG, was completed on a tight timetable and in difficult circumstances characterized by fluctuating winds and frequent sandstorms. The crew adopted a pre-assembly and on-site relocation technique to expedite the process, completing assembly, testing, and commissioning of the crane's primary components within 10 days of arrival.
During installation, the 4,000-ton crane worked in tandem with a 600-ton crawler crane in a main-lift and tailing configuration to guarantee stability and precision placement. The successful operation demonstrated the crane's ability to handle heavy, structurally complicated equipment in challenging conditions.
