Volvo Group Southern Africa Appoints Stuart Potter As Managing Director

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Stuart Potter will take over as managing director of Volvo Group Southern Africa.

Potter replaces Waldemar Christensen, who has headed the firm since 2022 and will become chief executive officer of Designwerk Technologies AG, a Volvo Group subsidiary located in Switzerland.

Potter has almost three decades of expertise in the commercial vehicle and transportation sectors. He started his career as a heavy commercial vehicle mechanic and has subsequently held many senior leadership positions in aftermarket, retail, and operations.

He joined Volvo Trucks in 2014 and has held several senior roles within the company, acquiring expertise in customer service and operations management.

Potter emphasized the need of solid relationships in the commercial vehicle industry, pointing out that fleet operators rely on dependable transportation solutions and long-term assistance to handle operational issues.

He also emphasized the significance of the Volvo Trucks dealer network in customer assistance, citing finance, service agreements, fleet management, and parts support as critical aspects in helping fleet owners maintain dependability and profitability.
