Damietta Port Handles Largest Bulk Cargo Shipment In Its History

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The Panamanian bulk carrier YANG FAN arrived at Damietta Port with 144,780 tonnes of bulk slag from China. This is the biggest bulk cargo shipment the port has handled since it opened.

The ship, which came from Singapore, is 289 meters long and 16 meters deep, demonstrating the port's improved capacity to handle big, deep-draught ships.

The successful berthing is a result of recent infrastructure improvements, such as the widening of the navigation channel and marine berths, as well as enhancements to cargo handling and marine services.

In collaboration with the port authorities and other organizations, Sisco Trans for Advanced Logistics is conducting cargo discharge operations.

The project is a component of Egypt's larger plan to improve port infrastructure and establish the nation as a regional center for transit commerce, logistics, and transportation.
