Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Aldar and the Department of Municipalities and Transport have teamed together to create a new generation of integrated communities spanning over 20 million square meters across Abu Dhabi.
In order to support Abu Dhabi's long-term urban growth goals, the large-scale projects will feature residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, schools, parks, and lifestyle facilities spread over five key areas in the emirate.
Building on its expertise completing projects like Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, and Al Raha Beach, Aldar will manage the communities' master planning and construction while DMT contributes land as part of the cooperation.
In addition to increasing housing options across all market segments, the new districts are being planned around walkable neighborhoods, green public areas, and better transportation connections.
Muwaylih, Mussafah, Al Zahiya, and Al Faya are development zones, while Al Mihsinah Island is intended to become a waterfront residential and leisure destination.
Additionally, the cooperation promotes the growth of Abu Dhabi's Value Housing Program, which aims to increase the emirate's supply of high-quality and reasonably priced rental homes.
The deal, which was made public during the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit 2026, is indicative of the capital of the United Arab Emirates' increasing investment in long-term community infrastructure and sustainable mixed-use projects.
