XCMG Ships Mining Trucks To Guinea’s Simandou Iron Ore Project

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - XCMG has begun shipping its flagship mining trucks from China to the SimFer mine at the Simandou iron ore project in Guinea, one of the world’s largest undeveloped high-grade iron ore deposits.

The delivery forms part of an equipment supply contract worth nearly $110 million signed in 2024, covering large-capacity mining trucks, motor graders and auxiliary equipment.

The SimFer mine is operated by SimFer S.A., a joint venture between Rio Tinto, a Chinalco-led consortium, and the government of Guinea. The shipment reflects closer cooperation between XCMG and Rio Tinto in the supply of high-end mining equipment.

The XDE260 mining trucks are designed for operating conditions in West Africa, with a focus on productivity and reduced environmental impact.
