Normet Xrock Launches Autonomous Rock-Breaking System

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Normet Xrock has launched the world's first completely automated rock-breaking technology, representing a significant step forward in underground mining safety and production.

To ensure steady ore flow, secondary rock breaking has historically required operators to operate near operational crushers to remove obstructions. This procedure is automated by the Autobreaker, which detects large objects and breaks them without the need for workers to be in the danger area. From a secure control room, operators may remotely monitor many systems.

The system creates a dynamic representation of the ore mass using sensors and real-time camera vision. As material conditions vary, it continually adjusts to recognize big boulders, arrange striking sites, and carry out breaking sequences. By integrating with mine control infrastructure, boom movement, process management, and system communication are all managed independently.
