Caterpillar has unveiled the Cat 707 wide body truck, a 66-tonne truck built for endurance, high uptime, and low lifetime costs.
The truck has a fully integrated Cat powertrain, which includes a Cat C13 engine, an automated gearbox, and unique axles. It is available in normal or heavy-duty variants, with 40- or 42-cubic-meter bodies, depending of the material and site requirements.
Engine choices include a 400-kW C13B complying with China Nonroad Stage IV requirements and a 358-kW C13 equal to US EPA Tier 3. Caterpillar said that the truck has been designed for rebuildability, enabling customers to prolong service life with a second working cycle.
To promote productivity and safety, the 707 has numerous braking and deceleration mechanisms, basic falling object protection, optional rollover prevention, and rapid hoist cycle times.
The Cat 707 broad body truck is offered in certain areas via Caterpillar's dealer network.
