Sharjah Advances Sajaa Logistics Complex Development

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority (SPCFZA) and Gulftainer are continuing construction of the Sajaa Logistics Complex, a multimodal logistics hub aimed at enhancing connectivity between Sharjah’s ports, airports and industrial zones.

Covering more than 3 million sq. ft., the facility will have an annual handling capacity of more than 850,000 TEUs and will be an integral link in regional trade corridors between the UAE and GCC markets.

The complex is strategically positioned in Sharjah, connecting Khorfakkan Port, Port Khalid, Hamriyah Port and Kalba Port with industrial and commercial hubs to provide an integrated platform for cargo handling, storage, distribution and re-export operations.

The first phase will feature capacity for 15,000 TEUs, as well as warehouses, logistics yards and supporting infrastructure. A dry port managed by Gulftainer is at the heart of the development and will serve to ease the flow of goods and enhance efficiency in the supply chain.

The facility is also in close proximity to Sharjah International Airport and other key airports in the UAE, and will be benefiting from future connectivity with the Etihad Rail network to further increase multi-modal transit capabilities.

The initiative supports Sharjah’s objective to consolidate its position as a major regional center for logistics and distribution, boost trade connections, and increase supply chain resilience, SPCFZA stated.
