Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Ports (Mawani) has extended the time of exemption from storage costs for entering empty containers at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port.
The program extends the free storage time from 10 to 20 days, with the goal of increasing container availability and supporting exports.
Mawani stated that the action is intended to encourage shipping lines to divert empty containers to ports in the Eastern Province, ensuring a consistent supply for exporters and smoother cargo movements.
The step is also intended to attract containers that are now located in other Gulf ports, increasing logistical efficiency and boosting trade operations.
