Oman Eases Customs Rules To Support Trade

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The Royal Oman Police, via its General Directorate of Customs, has implemented additional steps to ease the passage of transit products as regional tensions hamper economic flows.

The revisions enable empty containers to enter and depart without a customs declaration, and inspections are confined to scanning operations.

Transit declarations may now be handled immediately from border crossings to ports using booking numbers, while clearance is limited to containers that have physically arrived.

Authorities have also said that cars and equipment entering from GCC nations would simply need a transit declaration, eliminating the requirement for extra documents such as customs cards or export certifications.

The improvements are intended to reduce delays, simplify processes, and assist firms while supply chains are under strain from continuing regional developments.

Tensions on important maritime routes, like the Strait of Hormuz, have raised transport costs, insurance premiums, and delivery delays, causing authorities to take action to preserve the flow of products.
