Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The Saudi Ports Authority has started the new “Red Sea Express” shipping service at King Fahd Industrial Port Yanbu to enhance cargo handling efficiency and cut down vessel waiting times.
The service enhances regional marine connection along the Red Sea linking Saudi ports of Jeddah and Yanbu with Ain Sokhna in Egypt and Aqaba in Jordan.
The new route is able to accommodate 1,100 standard sized containers, and is aimed at smoothing out cargo flow and improving logistical operations.
King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu is one of the major ports on the Red Sea for crude oil and petrochemical exports and is an important part of the kingdom’s industrial and energy supply chains.
The debut comes as Saudi Arabia is strengthening the role of Yanbu in regional commerce and transportation operations amid a growing volume of cargo across the Red Sea route.
