DP World Adds 700 Trucks To Expand GCC Logistics Network

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - DP World has invested in 700 additional trucks to enhance its road freight network throughout the GCC, bolstering its integrated logistics capabilities and improving regional cargo connections.

The fleet growth is part of DP World's long-term ambition to create a comprehensive multimodal logistics network that connects ports, terminals, economic zones, warehouses, and digital platforms across the area.

The extra trucks will allow for up to 35,000 journeys per month, servicing domestic and cross-border freight operations and handling both containerized and non-containerized products. The fleet will provide first-, middle-, and last-mile transportation options to clients throughout the GCC.

The new Euro V-compliant trucks are intended to increase fuel economy while also promoting more dependable and sustainable freight operations. DP World said it would also continue to investigate the use of green-energy trucks as part of its future fleet plan.

The trucks are being deployed in stages and will supplement DP World's existing regional transport network, which presently handles around 3,000 truck movements per day.

The investment comes after DP World launched several logistical projects, including bonded transport corridors linking the UAE's east coast ports to Jebel Ali, a bonded corridor connecting Sohar in Oman, and extended overland cargo operations via Jeddah Islamic Port.
