Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - AD Ports Group has implemented an operational cargo routing arrangement that allows containers arriving at Khor Fakkan and Fujairah ports to be moved to Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and then to Gulf markets via bonded transit, as regional tensions fuel demand for alternate logistical routes.
Under the terms of the agreement, import containers arriving from UAE East Coast ports may be transported to Khalifa Port by road or train with a customs-bonded seal.
Final customs clearance and duty payments are handled by Abu Dhabi Customs, while consignees continue to utilize their current Abu Dhabi trade license and importer number, following conventional clearing processes.
The routing method is intended to provide producers and importers more freedom while simplifying freight flows into Abu Dhabi and the larger Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area.
The agreement is applicable to import containers handled by CMA Terminals Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT), and COSCO Shipping Ports Abu Dhabi Terminal (CSP ADT).
