Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Sarens has strengthened its assistance for major industrial and energy projects in the area and increased its operational presence in Southern Africa by establishing a new logistics hub in Walvis Bay.
The four-hectare complex will service Namibia as well as nearby markets in Angola, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is well situated in the Walvis Bay logistical corridor. The hub's integrated transport and logistical services are intended to help industries including offshore, mining, and oil and gas.
Sarens will handle material handling, staging, shunting, storage, and unusual transportation from the location. Heavy-duty lowbed combinations, extensible trailers, and modular transport equipment will be used for initial operations. As regional demand increases, further fleet expenditures are anticipated.
By enabling equipment to be handled and stored inland under controlled circumstances, the hub also reduces traffic in port regions. This increases project efficiency and minimizes exposure to sand, salt, and corrosion.
With its assistance of the InnoVent Diaz I Wind Farm's development and ongoing work on the turbine installation at the InnoVent Diaz II Wind Farm near Lüderitz, Sarens is already involved in Namibia's renewable energy industry.
In addition to strengthening Sarens' regional logistics network, the investment is anticipated to enhance project assistance and equipment mobilization across Southern Africa.
