Sarens Adds 1,300-Tonne XCMG Crane To South Africa Fleet

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Sarens has added the XCMG XCL18000M to its Southern African fleet – one of the biggest crawler cranes in the area with a maximum lifting capability of 1,300 tons.

The crane will be deployed at a wind farm project outside Cape Town, helping to install 24 wind turbines. The unit will be deployed to major petrochemical and mining facilities throughout Africa after the project.

The XCL18000M is designed for heavy lifting applications, with a lifting height of up to 198 metres, and has modern technology such as AI-assisted operating systems, hook anti-sway controls and ground pressure monitoring.

The acquisition increases Sarens’ capabilities to serve large-scale projects in the wind energy, mining, petrochemical and construction industries and enhances its position in the African heavy lifting market.
