Tirsam And Sinotruk Expand Heavy Truck Production In Algeria

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Tirsam Groupe and Sinotruk are strengthening their manufacturing relationship in Algeria, with the Tirsam factory in Batna producing its 3,000th heavy-duty vehicle.

The milestone was reached during a visit to the facility by a Sinotruk team, emphasizing the rising importance of indigenous truck manufacture in Algeria.

The partners are already planning for the next stage of growth, which will include a specialized heavy-truck welding line. The investment is designed to boost local manufacturing capacity while also promoting knowledge transfer, local subcontracting, and workforce development.

Sinotruk has also expressed a desire to expand the Batna plant into one of its biggest manufacturing sites outside of China, possibly giving Algeria a more major position in the Chinese truck manufacturer's global production network.
