Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Saudi Arabia introduces its first hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck with autonomous driving capabilities, a major milestone for sustainable freight transport and future logistics.
Ismail Abudawood, Procter & Gamble and Hyperview partnered to assist the program with the backing of the Transport General Authority, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services.
The hydrogen-powered truck is emission-free and has a driving range of up to 1,500 km and needs just a few minutes to recharge, making it suited for long-haul freight operations.
The truck also has autonomous drive, artificial intelligence and digital technology that allow continual software upgrades and increased operating efficiency.
The initiative is in line with Saudi Arabia’s wider ambitions to cut transport emissions, enhance logistics performance and speed up the use of next-generation technology within the freight industry.
