Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - ARCHION has made its first big product step since uniting Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso, introducing new medium-duty trucks for the Japanese market under both names.
The latest models include the Hino Ranger and the FUSO Fighter. Under the terms of the agreement, Hino will offer Mitsubishi Fuso with its current medium-duty truck platform, enabling the companies to share technology and components while still marketing cars under their own names.
ARCHION was founded on April 1, 2026, as the holding corporation that brought Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino together. Its plan aims for further standardization of powertrains, chassis, cabs, electronic systems, and components, with the goal of lowering development and manufacturing costs while increasing economies of scale.
The platform-sharing plan will go beyond traditional trucking. Mitsubishi Fuso will also give Hino with its existing electric light-duty vehicle platform, with manufacturing anticipated to begin this fiscal year.
In the long run, ARCHION intends to build next-generation common truck platforms, using Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso technologies as well as strategic alliances with Toyota and Daimler Truck. Zero-emission powertrains, fuel-cell technologies, and self-driving vehicles are among the areas of progress anticipated.
Despite the growing integration of the vehicles, ARCHION plans to keep and expand the Hino and FUSO brands independently, using their existing customer bases and worldwide sales networks.
