Southern Province Cement Nears Completion Of Jazan Plant Upgrade

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Southern Province Cement Company disclosed that the new production line at its Jazan cement plant is 98% complete, with trial operations taking place at various levels of production.

The first trial batch of clinker was produced on December 29, 2025, in accordance with the planned timetable. Full production and commercial operations are scheduled this year.

The clinker manufacturing line has a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day, and the cement grinding capacity will be 10,000 tonnes per day. The project also includes infrastructure for a possible extra clinker line capable of producing 5,000 tonnes per day.

Sinoma International Engineering Company was given a $330 million contract in December 2022 to design the new line, which would replace the plant's current manufacturing lines.
