Nigeria Approves Six Road Projects

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Nigeria's Federal Executive Council has authorized six major road projects to improve mobility and boost economic activity around the nation.

One of the greatest projects is the rehabilitation of the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Road, a 103-kilometer dual highway in southwestern Nigeria worth around $308 million. The contract had already been given, but it was later reviewed and reissued due to inadequate progress.

The council also authorized the repair of a stretch of the Abuja-Lokoja highway, which connects the Federal Capital Territory to the country's northern and southern regions. The project is projected to cost about $105 million.

In addition, the government has authorized the redesign of Carter Bridge in Lagos as part of larger efforts to enhance traffic flow and road infrastructure in the country's economic capital.
