Sandvik Wins Major Botswana Mining Fleet Order

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd. has placed a large order for 45 underground mining equipment from Sandvik to assist operations at MMG's Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana.

In addition to automation, operator training, and remote monitoring technologies intended to enhance productivity, safety, and equipment utilization, the fleet consists of underground loaders, haul trucks, drill rigs, raise boring equipment, and utility vehicles.

August 2026 is when deliveries are expected to start, and they will continue until April 2030.

The equipment will be installed in the high-grade Zone 5 orebody of the mine, where JCHX is conducting underground mining operations on a five-year contract for around $70 million.

A crucial component of MMG's growth plans for the Khoemacau operation is Zone 5, which supports initiatives to boost copper output and create new mining fronts.
