Sharjah Advances Al Dhaid Logistics Complex Development

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority (SPCFZA) is moving forward with the construction of Al Dhaid Logistics Complex, a large multimodal logistics hub that will be a key driver in enhancing trade flows and supply chain linkages throughout the UAE and GCC.

The first phase of the project will cover an area of more than 16 million square feet and will be able to process up to 1.5 million TEUs yearly, with further growth in the pipeline to meet rising logistical demand.

The complex, based in Al Dhaid, would link Sharjah’s ports, border crossings, industrial zones and distribution hubs, providing an integrated platform for cargo processing, storage and regional distribution.

The facility will also act as an operational extension to Sharjah’s port network, connecting Port Khalid, Hamriyah Port, Port Khorfakkan and Kalba Port and will facilitate future access to the UAE National Railway Network via Etihad Rail.

Key infrastructure includes a dry port run by Gulftainer, modern warehousing, vehicle marshalling yards, cargo processing facilities and customs inspection areas.

The project would improve supply chain resilience, cut transit times and increase Sharjah’s position as a regional center for logistics and re-exports, while supporting the UAE’s wider trade and logistics development plan, SPCFZA stated.
