XCMG Deploys 100+ Machines At Dangote’s $16bn Kenya Refinery Project

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - XCMG has dispatched more than 100 construction machinery to the site of Dangote Group's projected $16 billion petroleum and petrochemicals complex in Lamu County, Kenya, to help with preparations for the project's groundbreaking ceremony.

The Dangote East Africa Petroleum and Petrochemicals Special Economic Zone, situated near Mokowe, has proposals for an oil refinery capable of processing up to 700,000 barrels per day, as well as ancillary industrial and petrochemical facilities.

XCMG coordinated the shipment and deployment of its equipment on-site, as well as ground-levelling work prior to the ceremony on September 30. More than 100 machines were displayed during the event ceremony.

XCMG and Dangote Group have had an equipment supply partnership since 2016, when hundreds of XCMG machines were used on the group's building projects. The corporations strengthened their collaboration in 2025 with a strategic agreement, followed by conversations between their executive teams in 2026.
