Oman Launches First AI-Powered Asphalt Paving Technology

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Oman has unveiled its first artificial intelligence-powered asphalt self-paving technology in the Wilayat of Maqshan, Dhofar, as part of Phase 4 of the Sultan Said bin Taimur Road dualisation project.

The technology was used as part of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology's plan to improve construction quality and operating efficiency while expediting the delivery of infrastructure.

The AI-powered paving system makes use of cutting-edge smart technology to promote longer-lasting road surfaces, improve asphalt quality, and increase paving accuracy.

The project is a component of larger initiatives to modernize the Sultanate's transportation and construction industries via digitalization, automation, and smart infrastructure solutions in line with long-term economic growth objectives.
