Hitachi Construction Machinery To Become LANDCROS Corporation

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. announced at the Board of Directors meeting that it plans to change its trade name to LANDCROS Corporation and adopt “LANDCROS” as its corporate brand, effective April 1, 2027.

As part of this plan, the company will prepare proposed amendments to its articles of incorporation and submit them at the annual shareholders meeting scheduled for June 2026. Further details will be disclosed once finalized.

Introducing the LANDCROS Brand

“LANDCROS” was first announced in July 2024, with the company gradually introducing innovative solutions under the name starting in April of this year. The term represents a new concept and direction, developed through extensive internal discussion alongside the group’s identity following its independence from the Hitachi Group.

The company has long embodied its vision: “Ensure a prosperous land and society for the future” and “We contribute toward realizing a safe and sustainable society.” The “LANDCROS” name reflects its commitment to delivering innovative solutions to customers in the global construction and mining industries.

Going forward, consolidated subsidiaries will also unify under the “LANDCROS” brand to strengthen recognition in global markets.

Background of the Name Change

The construction and mining industries face increasingly complex challenges, including labor shortages, stricter environmental regulations, rising operating costs, and aging infrastructure.

Hitachi Construction Machinery has led the industry for decades—from releasing a mechanical excavator in 1950 to developing Japan’s first domestically produced hydraulic excavator in 1965. However, rapid changes in the market now require a shift beyond a traditional hardware-focused model.

The company aims to evolve into a solutions provider, offering integrated support across the entire machinery lifecycle. This includes services and digital solutions, as well as next-generation equipment powered by AI, robotics, sensing, and communication technologies.

The trade name change reflects this strategic shift and the company’s commitment to creating new value in collaboration with its customers.

Looking Ahead

Even after becoming LANDCROS Corporation, the company will continue to address customer needs directly and deliver high-quality products and services aligned with its long-standing vision.

Looking ahead, the company aims to help shape the future of the construction and mining industries alongside customers worldwide. The LANDCROS brand will represent a commitment to innovation and to delivering solutions that go beyond the traditional role of a construction machinery manufacturer—contributing to a prosperous society for future generations.
