Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Wacker Neuson, a German manufacturer of construction equipment, has revealed that it is in advanced talks with Doosan Bobcat, a South Korean company, about selling the company's controlling ownership.
A public all-cash takeover bid to the remaining shareholders would follow the potential purchase of around 63% of Wacker Neuson's shares from its significant owners. An estimated $2.05 billion is the anticipated sale value for the management control share.
In a regulatory filing, Doosan Bobcat, a division of the Doosan Group in South Korea, said that it is examining the potential deal but has not yet taken a decision. The business promised to provide an updated disclosure within a month or when specifics were verified.
If finalized, the deal would combine Wacker Neuson's well-established position in light construction and compaction equipment with Doosan Bobcat's strength in skid steer loaders and mini excavators, marking a major step in consolidation within the worldwide compact equipment industry.
