Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - BOMAG has released the BW 18 RH pneumatic tyred roller, which places it in the 18-tonne class for this sort of compaction equipment.
The new machine is intended for asphalt applications such as base, binder, and top layers. It has a maximum operational weight of 18 tonnes and versatile ballasting choices that include steel, concrete, sand, or water.
The roller is powered by a 55 kW engine and does not need a diesel exhaust fluid system, which reduces operational complexity and expenses. The manufacturer claims that its ECOMODE function may reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% while minimizing noise and wear.
The type has a pivoting front axle for even weight distribution and an optional automated tire inflation system with pressure changes ranging from 2.0 to 8.0 bar to meet various site circumstances.
BOMAG claims that the machine's tires' combination kneading and rolling action will result in homogeneous compaction and better surface quality.
The roller also has elements that improve operator comfort and visibility, such as an adjustable sitting system and an improved cab arrangement.
